How to Organize Your Room 2 | 3 | Organize School Locker

Looking to decorate your kids room?.... Here are some tips that could help you make your child the happiest.

  1. Toddler

For a toddler you definitely want to use light colors in paint and try to decorate and organize it in a way that will not be grown out of too quickly. For example, do not paint princesses and teddy bears on the wall unless you are really sure that's what they want. Many kids grow out of themes quickly and unless you want to redo it every two years stick to the basics so they can decorate as they grow. Make sure you don't have furniture with sharp corners or too many fragile objects. Most likely at this age they are rambunctious and full of energy, making accidents a frequent occurrence. Make sure they have their own dresser and shelves so you can teach them organization at a young age. Chests and toy boxes are ok for babies, but might teach a young child how to lazily throw things into a box.

  2. Preteen

Make sure there is lots of room for them to just sit and play. My brother loves to sit for hours and play LEGOs in his room.  His favorite is the LEGO space station set. He spreads them all over the room and is not very organized. Girls as well as boys like to play with dolls or "action figures". Therefore they defiantly like their space. It is important that they have a good sized bed to match their increasing size. Plus, make sure they have a chair and desk so they have a quiet place to do the homework they receive in school and shelves to keep their books organized. Let them choose their blankets and sheets. Every one loves to sleep in a color or pattern of their choice; it just makes it more comfortable. If kids get to say how their room looks, they will want to keep it clean and organized.

  3. Teen

Leave all the decorating and organizing to them! They are old enough now to do what they want. Just stand back and feel relieved that you don't have to do as much work. Most likely they'll want posters and pictures. Buy a corkboard to help them get organized. Make sure they have a big closet and a lot of space. Ask them how they want things done and if some decisions worry you, some gentle prodding and pushing can be used to ensure the safety and well being of your child. For instance, unless they are extremely responsible you might not want them to have candles or fire starters in there and letting them have their own phone line and computer is great, but remember that it is a security hazard.

Soft hanging shelves for the closet
Soft Hanging Shelves
- are good for little and big kids! The mother can arrange the shelves that are too high, and the kid can learn to be neat and put his stuff away on the shelves he can reach.

Shelves are good too! But not for legos.

Small toys should be put in boxes so they don't go in the vacuum and make you mad!
