Make sure there is lots of room for them to just sit and play. My brother loves to sit for hours and play LEGOs in his room.  His favorite is the LEGO space station set. He spreads them all over the room and is not very organized. Girls as well as boys like to play with dolls or "action figures". Therefore they definitely like their space.
