• Toddler

For a toddler you definitely want to use light colors in paint and try to decorate and organize it in a way that will not be grown out of too quickly. For example, do not paint princesses and teddy bears on the wall unless you are really sure that's what they want. Many kids grow out of themes quickly and unless you want to redo it every two years stick to the basics so they can decorate as they grow. Make sure you don't have furniture with sharp corners or too many fragile objects. Most likely at this age they are rambunctious and full of energy, making accidents a frequent occurrence. Make sure they have their own dresser and shelves so you can teach them organization at a young age. Chests and toy boxes are ok for babies, but might teach a young child how to lazily throw things into a box.
